Saint Francis Palace
Saint Fancis Palace
The Saint Francis Palace is a Neoclassical building located in Downtown Bogotá, designed by the architect Gastón Lelarge in 1917.
The project "Partial rehabilitation, minimal intervention, first aid and cleaning of the Palace of Saint Francis' facade. Stage II, Phase I" took place between July and October 2012 and was funded by the Government of Cundinamarca. It consisted of mural painting explorations and overall maintenance of the building, as well as the restoration of the crystal chandeliers and a bronze sculpture in one of the patios. I worked alongside a crew of more than 50 people, which included engineers, architects, conservators, carpenters, stonemasons, contactors, among others.
I was the mural painting group coordinator, responsible for the mural painting proposals for the building. In addition, I participated in the conservation treatment of the bronze sculpture of President José Vicente Concha, by artist Gustavo Arcila Uribe.
