Among the damages found were varnish discoloration and oxidation,observed as brown stains in the sky area. In addition the painting exhibited general dirtiness, unevenness of tension, and minor paint losses

Before the conservation process. (Front) This painting had several retouching, cracking of the previous fillings and some painting losses. The canvas had holes on the sides caused by xylophagous insects attack, which were observed after the retouching elimination process.
